Caroline Matthes , LCSW
I believe therapy works best when it's thoughtful, rooted in genuine connection, and isn’t something you dread each week. While our work together will challenge the deeply held and often unconscious patterns of behaviors that keep you stuck, it will also bring an opportunities for levity and celebration of your wins. I work with adults and couples who are ready to deepen their self awareness and do the hard work of making lasting change.
I specialize in relationship dynamics (platonic, familial, and romantic), identity development, life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. Our work will focus on understanding how your history and early attachments influence your current functioning. We will identify opportunities for sustainable change and practice the skills you may need to move in that direction. I will encourage you towards vulnerability and authenticity while respecting your autonomy and concerns.
I bring genuine curiosity, confidence, intellect, and flexibility to sessions. Where appropriate, I use humor to make the process feel a little more human and a little less heavy. I work best with people who are thoughtful, curious, and willing to engage deeply with themselves and their concerns.
I earned my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Practice from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work in 2019. I continue to engage in continuing education and consultation with fellow therapists. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Denver, Colorado.
